Foreign HSM Conversion Basics

• • Dump filesystem info. on the source machine

• Transfer the information to the IRIX machine

• Start DMF and go home

• Recreate original filesystem directory structure on IRIX machine, inserting a new bfid into each inode and adding a new DMF daemon database entry for each bfid pointing an FTP MSP to the corresponding file on the original machine
