Notes on the CD-ROM directory and icons

If your Windows or Macintosh system does not "see" icons you can double click to open or if you wish to use an application other than the one associated with a file, then drag the file's icon onto the application icon or open the application and use its Open dialogue box to open the file. So for example, for the index.html file in the root directory, the user would drag it onto which ever browser he or she prefers or open it from within the browser: typically Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer.
