CUG 2005 starts on Monday morning May 16 and ends Thursday afternoon May 19, 2005. Special accommodations and/or dietary requirements should be noted on the Conference registration form. On-Site FacilitiesMessagesDuring the conference (May 16-19), telephone messages will be taken at the on-site CUG Conference Office. FaxesA fax machine is available at the hotel business office for conference-related business. Incoming fax messages may be sent to the CUG Conference Office eFax™ account at . Notices of incoming fax messages will be posted on the conference message board. E-mail and Personal ComputersAn E-mail room will be equipped with a limited number of personal computers. SSH will be available on all systems. There will be a laser printer on the LAN as well. One of the personal computers and the printer are designated for the use of speakers for last minute changes to presentations. You may also bring your laptop computer to the E-mail room and either connect to an Ethernet hub or use wireless LAN, 802.11b/g compatible cards for access to the LAN and the Internet. Please note that you must provide wireless 801.11b/g compatible cards and power supplies required for your laptop. The Ethernet hub accepts RJ-45 modular jacks. The E-mail room will not be available after 4 PM on Thursday. Speaker PreparationWe invite speakers to use the personal computer and the printer in the E-mail room for last minute changes. We will provide video projectors in all technical and general session rooms. Please find time before sessions and during breaks to test your laptop connection to the video projectors. Please come to the Conference Office if you need assistance. You can send documents to print at this store via the FedEx Kinko's web site. If you plan to distribute copies of your presentation, please bring sufficient copies with you. You may also have copies made at the hotel business office for a charge. VoltageThe United States operates on a 120V system; those traveling from outside the US may need an adaptor. Check the Voltage Valet for information on requirements and to find adapters. Special AssistanceAny requests for special assistance during the Conference should be noted on the "Special Requirements" area of the registration form, or you may contact the Local Arrangements Committee. Smoking PolicyThere is no smoking allowed at the Conference. Social EventsCray Inc. ReceptionCray Inc. will host a reception one evening. All conference participants and their guests are invited to attend. Details will be provided at a later date. CUG Night Out¡Bienvenidos Amigos! Welcome friends! On Wednesday, all attendees are invited to enjoy a night out organized by the Local Arrangements Committee. The CUG Night Out will be at El Pinto Restaurant and Cantina which is about 10 minutes from the hotel.
The menu will be a Mexican buffet with items like: Tossed salad with vinaigrette, Red Chili Cheese Enchiladas, Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas, Aztec corn, Beans, Rice, Roasted New Potatoes, Single-meat carving station (choice of honey-glazed ham, oven-roasted turkey, herb-rubbed pork or round of beef) and Flan for dessert. Also included are Tostadas and Jalapeno salsa, Sopapillas and honey, and beverages (tea, coffee and sodas). There will be demonstrations of making Indian bread on a Kiva oven, Guacamole, and roasted chili…un poco caliente, fun to learn, and equally fun to sample!!
