Who May Attend
CUG meetings are not open sessions according to our organization’s corporate bylaws and guidelines. Attending CUG requires a documented affiliation with a CUG member site, sponsor, or pre-approval as an authorized visitor. Admittance to any meeting session requires the appropriate identification badge.
Generally speaking, employees of a CUG Member site (identified by its CUG Site Code), and users of computing services provided by a CUG Member site, may attend a CUG meeting as a registered Installation Participant from that CUG Member site. If you have any question about eligibility to attend please contact the CUG Board prior to registering or making travel arrangements.
The CUG bylaws specify that a “CUG Visitor” is “any individual who is not an Installation Representative and who is invited to attend a specific function of the Corporation … [with] the prior approval of the Board of Directors.” This generally applies to an occasional invited speaker or prospective members approved by Cray and the CUG Board of Directors who bring important perspectives to our meeting in support of a strong technical program.
Subject to the restrictions in the Sponsor Agreement, Conference Sponsors may also attend. Sponsorship opportunities are limited, for information on the benefits of becoming a Conference Sponsor, please contact the CUG Treasurer.
Cray Inc. employees
Cray employees should not use the online system to register or book a room. Your conference registration and hotel booking are processed by Linda Yetzer. Her phone number is (1-651) 605-8961; e-mail address is yetzerll@cray.com.
First-time Attendees
We encourage first-time attendees to seek out CUG Board Members and other CUG leaders. Stop by the CUG office during the event if you need assistance or would like to speak to a board member. Board Members and SIG Chairs will make themselves known during the course of the conference. They look forward to welcoming you and to helping you with information about how CUG works.
