Keynote – Anna Ho – Tuesday May 3rd
Bio: Anna Ho is a Miller Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley. She completed her PhD in Caltech in 2020. Prior to that, she obtained a B.S. in Physics from MIT and spent one year on a Fulbright Grant at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany. For her research, Anna studies the violent deaths of stars using telescopes all over the Earth and in space, observing across the electromagnetic spectrum, from X-rays to radio waves.
Invited Speaker – Benjamin Nachman – Wednesday May 4th
Bio: Bachelors degree from Cornell University in 2012, Churchill Scholar at the University of Cambridge in 2012-2013, Ph.D. in Physics / Ph.D. minor in Statistics from Stanford University in 2016. Chamberlain Fellow at Berkeley Lab from 2016-2020 and now Staff Scientist at Berkeley Lab / Research Affiliate at the Berkeley Institute for Data Science at UC Berkeley. Group leader of Machine Learning for Fundamental Physics and a founding member of the Quantum Algorithms for High Energy Physics group at Berkeley Lab.
