The Cray User Group (CUG) is an independent, volunteer-organized, international organization of member institutions that own, operate, or utilize Cray and HPE systems, with a focus on high-performance and technical computing. CUG’s mission is to provide leadership and foster information exchange within the high-performance computing community, enabling the effective use of computational tools to achieve the business and research objectives of its members.
This year, the following CUG Board positions are open for election:
- President
- Vice President
- One Director at Large
You are welcome to nominate yourself or nominate someone else for these positions. Please see below for further details on how to submit a nomination. The deadline for nominations is 30 March 2026 (Anywhere on Earth).
1. How do I nominate myself? You will need to provide the following five items to complete your nomination:
Personal Information:
- Your name
- Site
- Contact information
The position for which you would like to run.Election Pitch:
- Submit a one-paragraph statement (up to 250 words) as your “election pitch.” This statement will be included in the ballot to help site representatives during the voting process.
Acceptance of Nomination Form:
- As required by CUG by-laws, submit the signed Acceptance of Nomination Form (see attached form). This form is a written assurance that, if elected, you will diligently fulfill the duties of the position on the Board of Directors for the duration of your term.
Headshot or Photo:
- Include a professional headshot or photo of yourself to be displayed on the CUG website in the listing of candidates.
2. How do I nominate someone else?
You will need to provide us with their name, site, contact information, and intended position. We will contact the prospective nominee with instructions on submitting their pitch and further details, which must be received by the above deadline. We encourage you to reach out to the prospective candidate and obtain their agreement before nominating them.
